Overview of the event

The event was broadly divided into three sessions:

Session 1

Interaction of representatives from various Universities was held at first block conference room.
Prof.  Glady Jacob (Campus administrator) and Prof. G.S. Hebbar  (Coordinator, Department of Mechanical Engineering) welcomed the representatives from various reputed Universities and briefed them about Christ university and its diverse heritage along with the various facilities in hand, student diversity and collaborations with various reputed companies. They very well introduced the university and the status of the same to the various guests not only in academics but also in co curricular activities. The students of Christ were also the highlight of the conference as they were the sole reason for the event. The way to approach them and the main agenda of the conference along the line were disclosed to the faculty and also the representatives.

Session 2

This session contained guest lecture and counselling for students, wherein different representatives from various foreign universities, came about as a part of the IDP group to give what they could, at best for the students. The session was inaugurated by handing over roses to the IDP members by our Prof. Pal Pandian P. In the very same manner with the same enthusiasm and momentum the event was carried out till the very end.

A proper guidance is what is required in this modern day scenario for any individual’s success. The main motive of this event was the same, to take the students interest of going abroad and also taking up higher studies in foreign universities. The session was mainly dealt in two sessions.

One was in which the delegates of IDP came up and gave a presentation, to introduce and give students to a clear idea as to what they are going to get from this event and what they have at hand for grab. The session was humorous and interactive, which carried a lot of student’s interest and moreover dreams. The topics of discussion were:

  1. Need to study abroad
  2. Popular destinations
  3. Popular fields of study
  4. Admission details
  5. Cost comparison
  6. Intake details of various universities

All these topics of discussion made the session more interactive and took all of the students by interest. These topics of discussion disclose most of the doubts as to how to go abroad for further education. A special credit must be given to the IDP member, given the time constraint they pulled all the students together and did a very good job.

The second session was wherein the students interacted with the representatives and cleared their queries. The other important part of this session was that, where in the different university representatives came up and gave a small welcome note. The note was a really powerful and carried a lot of punch in it, which did take the students by storm and awe. This note was more than enough to captivate a lot more of student’s interest. Also the different courses, fee structure and entrance procedure were an agenda of this session.

At the end of the session as a part of CHRIST (Deemed to be University) Faculty of Engineering culture, all the representatives and IDP members were given mementos as a token of our love and gratitude by our beloved faculty.

Session 3

Final session of the event took place in the manual drawing graphics lab where counsellors of IDP along with the representatives put up stalls and gave counselling to the students regarding their choices according to their interests. In other aspects, this was the main phase of this event for both students and the representatives. The students who attended this session were given a kit detailing them about IDP with their vouchers and pamphlets.

A lot of students took part in this session, irrespective of their semesters. The main motive were the final year passing out students, however the event caught interest even among the youths and pre-final year students. Many students made their presence and made proper use of this event conducted by IDP.

Even students from the PUC of Christ Junior College as well participated in this session, which did leave a mark in many. The IDP people did leave remarks in the Remark register where in the majority were pleased with the university and also by the students interest.
The main organisers of the event were the MAC members of Mechanical Department, who were the real reason for the success of this event and were thanked specially and applauded by the IDP members and also the representatives.

Feedback from Students

  2. Really helpful for students who don’t know how to go take up studies in foreign universities.
  3. A ‘Live Counselling’ is a really difficult task, but they pulled it in style.
  4. Well directed and the mentality of students were very well understood.
  5. All queries were well answered leaving no option of dilemma in students.
  6. Well managed given the time constraint in hand.
  7. Good response to students and all were treated and given equal opportunity.
